Stage Assistant III- LPAC


Under general supervision, this position assists with season and rental productions; and assists in supervising, training, scheduling a thirty member crew for a performing arts season comprised of road productions and local presenters. General direction is provided by the Technical Director.  


  • Supervise light hangs, load-ins and load-outs and lighting design as required for season and rental events.
  • Stage managing assigned season event(s).
  • Set up running sound for some shows.
  • Assist in setting schedules.
  • Work counterweight system and flying scenery as needed.
  • Perform data entry; and create spreadsheets.
  • Follow the City’s and the Parks, Recreation, & Arts department’s policies and procedures.
  • Communicate information to supervisor so that the management team can respond/address any issues as they arise.
  • Possess excellent communication and makes knowledgeable choices.
  • Promote and ensure the safety of patrons and employees who utilize the LPAC facility.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in stage management or closely related field is highly desirable.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A minimum of three years of full time professional experience in the fields if lights, sound, construction and/or stage management, and two years of general professional theatre work.
  • Must possess word processing experience and familiarity with database programs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to plan, coordinate and lead a specialized team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and City staff.
  • Ability to be aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit.
  • Friendly, versatile and outgoing personality.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and organizational skills. 

Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary: $20.22 - $22.77 per hour
