Duplication of Plans

For additional information, please contact our building services technicians:

(661) 723-6144

If you need a copy of your building plans, we may have a copy on file at the City’s storage facility. You can contact our building services technicians, and they will be happy to let you know if we have a copy of your plans on file.

To obtain a copy of plans:

  1. Provide a notarized letter of authorization from current property owner stating permission to release plans for duplication.
  2. Provide a notarized letter of authorization from the architect/engineer that prepared the plans stating permission to release plans for duplication. If you do not know where the architect/engineer is, the City will contact the Architect/Engineer Licensing Board to get their last known address, and will send a “Certified Letter” along with the Affidavit (statement of why they need the plans) from the person requesting the plans. If we do not receive a response within 30 days, the plans can be released to a bonded print company. If plan duplication is denied by the architect/engineer, the plans can be released by a court order.
  3. A blueprint company bonded with the City must pick up the plans, make the requested copies, and return the original plans to the City. Copies are purchased from the client’s contracted blueprint company.

Please contact us at (661) 723-6144 for a current list of Companies Bonded with the City.
