In an effort to engage and help residents stay informed regarding the State’s high-speed rail project, the City of Lancaster has invited the California High-Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) to hold an open house in Lancaster on January 25, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.  Local business owners and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the event, where they will have the opportunity to view HSRA’s proposed routes through the Antelope Valley, ask questions, and learn more about the details of the project.

Under HSRA’s direction, the high-speed rail extending from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin is expected to be completed by 2029 (with plans to expand it from Sacramento to San Diego).  Construction of the system’s infrastructure is already underway in the Central Valley.

The 80-mile section of the line connecting Bakersfield to Palmdale is plotted to come through Lancaster.  Attendees will have the opportunity to:  review the two HSRA-proposed alternate routes intersecting the Antelope Valley; engage with HSRA representatives; and obtain further information regarding the project.

All members of the public are welcome to attend this event.  Business owners, real estate professionals, and local stakeholders are highly encouraged to attend to learn what impact the HSRA plans would have on the Antelope Valley.  Rather than being a formal presentation, the event will be hosted in a free-flowing “open house” style, allowing residents to arrive and leave as their schedules permit.
