The Architectural and Design Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor. The Commission’s responsibilities and authority are governed by Title 2, Chapter 2.34 of the Lancaster Municipal Code. Under the provisions of the City’s Municipal Code, the Architectural and Design Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing appeals regarding the interpretation and application of design standards. These include both existing design standards and design standards adopted in the future. The Commission is also responsible for the development and recommendation to the City Council on design standards. Decisions rendered by the Architectural and Design Planning Commission are appealable to the Planning Commission under Title 2, Chapter 2.34.020 of the Lancaster Municipal Code.
Architectural/Design Planning Commission - Qualifications
Commissioner must be a resident of Lancaster or must be a resident of the Antelope Valley AND work within Lancaster city limits. Elected officials may serve. Commissioners may serve on more than one commission simultaneously. Compensation: none.
