If you're looking for a place in Lancaster to beat the heat, check out the LA County cooling centers within Lancaster city limits below.

Monday-Thursday: 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday: 10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This cooling center site is pet friendly:

Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
Pet owners must be present with their pets at all times.
It is recommended that if pet owners can have confined pet carriers, they should bring these with them to the site.
