"Stand Strong" Youth Sports Program
Loan Program Overview
The Lancaster City Council understands the devastating impacts the COVID-19 pandemic had on the entire community, including local youth sports organizations. The “Stand Strong” Youth Sports Loan Program was created to help keep these organizations operating to benefit the youths of Lancaster.
It is the City’s pleasure to partner with Mission Bank to administer the “Stand Strong” Youth Sports Loan Program. The Bank is a trusted partner of the City and is committed to providing support to the local community.
Is My Organization Eligible For a Loan?
To be eligible to receive a loan through this program, an organization must meet the following criteria:
- The organization must be a not-for-profit youth sports organization
- The local operating address (may be a residential address) must be located in the City of Lancaster
- At least 51% of the youths registered with the organization must reside in the City of Lancaster
How Much Are the Loans Worth and What Can the Money Be Used For?
Loans can range between $2,500 and $20,000 per organization.
Funds may be used to purchase working capital items such as PPE gear and cleaning supplies, required COVID-19 testing, facility rental fees, and to help offset costs of operating said organization such as rent, utilities, and equipment that is not covered by registration dues because of decreased enrollment in sporting programs as a result of the pandemic.
How Do I Apply?
To apply, the following documents must be submitted:
- Application
- IRS Tax Exempt (501(c))
- A roster with the addresses of all registered youths, including city and zip code
City Staff will determine eligibility and contact the person who submits the application. Additional documentation will be requested and required in order to continue processing the application. Once all documentation has been received, the complete application will be submitted to Mission Bank for review, approval and issuance of the loan.
What Additional Documentation Will Be Required?
- Legal Entity Documents.
- Signed Letter Attesting Low Income Youth are Beneficiaries.
- Customer Information Worksheet for Individual Signers.
- Copy of Driver’s License for each Individual Signer.
- Any additional information as requested by Mission Bank, for application completion.
