Introduction

The Administrative Services Department is responsible for carrying out functions which facilitate the operation of other City departments.

The Administrative Services Department is responsible for oversight of:

  • Dissemination of information concerning City activities and programs
  • Administration of the City's risk management program
  • Financial management and control
  • Budget development and preparation
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Safety and municipal insurance programs
  • City franchises
  • Contract services administration (including Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office and Los Angeles County Animal Control)
  • Other support functions for the line departments
