Business License Application & Renewal Process
A Business License is mandatory for anyone conducting business within the City of Lancaster limits, per the Lancaster municipal code (Title 5, Chapter 5.04)
All new applicants wishing to open a business are advised to visit the Planning Division to confirm zoning requirements - Additional approvals may be required for operating a business.

Application Process:
You can apply for or renew a business license online from the comfort of your home or office. Please visit: Lancaster.HdLGov.com. Available 24 hours a day.

NOTE:
Payment is not required until your application has been approved through city departments. You will receive an email verifying the receipt of your application from HDL. Additional information may be required. After the license fees are paid, a business account number will be issued. A business license will be mailed or emailed to you once the process is completed. Upon receipt of your business license, the City of Lancaster municipal code requires it be posted in a visible location at your business.
