Deputy Mayor Dr. Lawrence Stock

Larry Stock, MD, FACEP is an emergency medicine physician who completed the Harbor UCLA Emergency Medicine Residency program. He earned a BS in the Biomedical Sciences Program at UC Riverside and an MD at UCLA. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Emergency Department and Chair of the Bioethics Committee at Antelope Valley Hospital (AVH) in Lancaster, California where he has cared for patients since 1996. AVH is a public, district, not for profit hospital that serves as a Trauma Center, EMS Base Hospital, an Emergency Department Approved for Children and cares for over 135,000 ER patients a year. AVH is a teaching site for the UCLA Olive View Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Stock is a Clinical Professor at the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Larry Stock served as the 2016-2017 President of California ACEP, the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a Diplomate and a Senior Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Stock has been involved in international emergency medicine for over 20 years. He has worked in conflict and disaster zones in Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He is the Trauma Director Emeritus for Community Partners International. Peak experiences include volunteering in Liberia (West Africa) in 2003 during their last civil war and in 2015 to help during the Ebola crisis.
He is a two-time winner of California ACEP’s Humanitarian Award and was awarded their highest honor, the Walter T. Edwards Award.
Dr. Stock is honored to serve the City of Lancaster as a Deputy Mayor.
