Come join us at the FLEW Day event! The goal of the FLEW (Flight and Learning and Engineering with Wings) Day event is to expose children to engineering in a fun, outdoor setting. A group of 4-5 engineers from Lockheed Martin will be at the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve to explain how certain aspects of engineering relates to Birds and Flight. They will give a half hour presentation at 1 pm and then again at 2 pm.
We will be covering topics such as aerodynamics, structures, systems, helicopters, and stealth - and relating all the information to birds of prey. We will also have birds of prey from the Devil's Punchbowl on display. The program is sponsored by a non-profit group called SETLA - Scientists, Engineers, Technicians, and Leadership Association. Their website can be seen at www.setla2004.org.
