Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men continue to thrill audiences worldwide as the most successful R&B male group of all time. The trio will perform a unique concert-within-a-concert of catchy Motown favorites that connects 60’s R&B and soul to today’s hip-hop fusion, as well as their massive hits that propelled them to multi-platinum superstars: "I'll Make Love To You," "Motownphilly," and "End Of The Road."
Through the decades, the stars and songs of Motown Records have been the subject of countless tributes and cover version recordings. Few have displayed the level of vocal artistry or the faithfulness to the sound and spirit of the originals that Boyz II Men capture on Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA.
“Our approach was not to taint or take away from the integrity of the original records,” explains Shawn Stockman, “but to add a little thing, here or there, and put our Boyz II Men flavor on it. We wanted to pay tribute to an era that had such a major influence on our sound.”
Boyz II Men formed in 1988 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a quintet and went through several changes. The group’s clean-cut “retro nouveau” image, synchronized dance routines, and polished stage act were key to their rapid rise to stardom. Between 1992 and 1997, Boyz II Men recorded five Number One Pop hits and twelve Top Ten R&B singles, sold over 60 million records worldwide, and earned a host of awards including four Grammy Awards. Eventually the sound of Boyz II Men became as influential as that of their 1960s predecessors, The Temptations and The Miracles.
