A Night Out Swing Dancing
Looking for an excuse to get out and dance? The Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery offers “A Night Out - Swing Dancing” this Saturday, March 6, 2010 beginning at 6 pm with swing dance lessons from Mark Tang. The event will feature live music from swing band Bathtub Gin, delicious food from Fresco II, and wine from Leona Valley winery. Dance the night away or chat with friends amongst the artwork of talented High Desert artists showcased in the “25th Annual Juried All Media Art Exhibition.” General admission to the event is $8, LMAG Associates members $6. This final Saturday of the “25th Annual Juried All Media Art Exhibition” features artworks that reflect the diverse range of local talent selected by juror Dr. Michael Zakian, Director of the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art at Pepperdine University. Bringing together established and emerging artists working in traditional as well as new media, the exhibition reflects and celebrates the unique aesthetic of the High Desert. Stroll through the museum’s gallery to explore the variety and creativity of our local art community before the exhibition closes March 7th.

About The Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery
Founded in 1986, the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery is dedicated to advancing an appreciation of art and history in the Antelope Valley. Operating two sites—the Museum/Art Gallery and the Western Hotel Museum—LMAG is not only a repository for historical artifacts important to the preservation of the unique character of the Antelope Valley, but also a place where audiences—residents and visitors alike—may experience exhibitions of fine art and participate in a variety of art and history-based programs. Museum Hours and Admission- The Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm; closed Mondays, holidays, and between exhibitions. Admission is free, except to specially ticketed events.
