Capital Engineering Division
Our Services
The responsibilities of the Capital Engineering Division are focused on Public Contract and Private Contract development, Engineering Design Review, Construction and Inspections, as well as Mapping and Right-of-Way. This Division is responsible for:
- Public Contracts ("Capital" or "CIP" Projects)
- Execution of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the Development Services Department
- Environmental Clearance (CEQA and NEPA)
- Right-of-Way (ROW) Certification
- Design
- Construction Management and Inspection
- Contract Administration
- Private Contracts ("Development Engineering" Projects)
- Reviewing private development and determining conditions of approval
- Encroachment Permits
- Grading Permits
- Utility Encroachment Permits
- ROW Clearance
- Design review of all infrastructure improvement plans for compliance with the Municipal Code, Planning Commission's and Planning Section's Conditions of Approval, and the City's Engineering Design Guidelines Policies and Procedures
- Public Works Inspection
- Mapping & Right-of-Way
- Property and right-of-way acquisition and management
- Final Map checking and land surveying
- New and existing infrastructure asset inventory acquisition and data management
