Park Watch
The City of Lancaster's Park Watch Program involves the entire community in preventing crime or illicit activities in our parks. The park's citizens can act as an extra pair of eyes and ears for the park, Park Rangers, Law Enforcement, and the community itself. Grassroots community involvement in our parks can:
- Increase ownership of the parks by its surrounding neighborhood
- Encourage the proper use of the park
- Give a feeling of safety when visiting the park
- Prevent crimes from happening, such as vandalism and misuse of park equipment
Suspicious Actives to monitor:
- Alcohol use
- Drug use
- Animal activities
- Behavior of other patrons
- Run down or abandoned cars
- Citizens on the property after park hours
- Young children at play without proper supervision
