Ready Lancaster: Citizen Emergency Preparedness
We all know Emergency Preparedness is important. But sometimes the task can seem a bit daunting. We've consolidated the info into 3 simple steps -- which can be accomplished over a weekend, or the course of a few evenings. We've included links to trusted sources such as PrepareSoCal and Ready.Gov to get you started.
1. Get a KIT
(Can be found at local stores such as Walmart and Costco or purchased online)
2. Prep your HOME
(And know what to do in an emergency)
3. Make a PLAN
Don't forget -- a good emergency plan includes sources from which you'll get official emergency information. Sign up for Nixle, Lancaster's emergency notification system. See the video below for more information.
The Next Step
Completed all three steps and ready for more? Take an AV CERT class and learn how you can help the surrounding community during a disaster.
