Like an illuminated manuscript come to life, a company of 80 dancers, singers and musicians from the Republic of Georgia dazzle audiences with their vigor, agility and spectacular costumes. Their folk dances reflect the traditional weddings, harvests, sword fights and games of this land nestled between Russia and Turkey near the Black Sea. At one time the famed Silk Road moved through the region, bringing European and Asian influences to the culture. A live orchestra accompanies the group, featuring drums, flutes, harmonicas and traditional folk instruments.
