This summer, the Lancaster Performing Arts Center won’t be the only place on Lancaster Boulevard that hosts top-named musical entertainment. On July 21, September 16 and October 20, Lancaster Boulevard will play host to a fun-filled celebration of fine food, music and community.

Despite scorching temperatures inching above 105 degrees, more than 5,000 people gathered for Lancaster’s inaugural Celebrate Downtown event in July 2005. After the incredible success of last year’s downtown celebration featuring the Latin Jazz of Poncho Sanchez, the City is excited to augment this community program.

The free events provide an opportunity to enjoy fabulous music, discover fresh fruits and vegetables in the farmers' market, purchase unique hand-crafted items, and celebrate summer with good friends and fantastic food.

Kick off the series with the soulful jazz of David Benoit on July 21. Swing and rock groups will entertain at September and October audiences to create a unique variety of music to appeal to everyone’s tastes. So forget the traffic and hassle of heading out of town this summer. Instead, simply stroll downtown for a relaxing evening with food, friends, family and music under the summer stars.
