Traffic Operations
Our primary function is to provide inspection, maintenance, and repair to lighting, signal, sign and markings.
Traffic Operations is responsible for:

Maintaining, repairing, and replacing damaged signal equipment, street lights and smart pedestrian crossings at over 140 locations.

Maintaining, repairing and replacing a communications network with over 50 miles of fiber optic cables and wireless antenna.

Installing, removing and replacing street striping, signs and markings such as crosswalks, reflectors, center lines, lane lines, ceramic markers, stop stencils, stop bars, stop signs, speed limit signs, and regulatory signs throughout the city covering over 90 square miles.
Street Light Operations is responsible for:

The Streetlight team is responsible for the maintenance and repair of over 20,000 city owned light poles and fixtures. The streetlight team also coordinates the maintenance and repair of thousands of lights owned by Southern California Edison inside the city limits.
